Title: Gift of the Machine AI Inspired Software: AIVA Pianist: Dominic Cheli How they used AI: Michael Abels uploaded a short composition of his for solo piano, then had AIVA generate several pieces of music “influenced” by Abels’ example. Abels then used the results as inspiration for “Gift of the Machine.” Why They Altered Notes: 1) Not playable by one pianist or even one piano. 2) Gave piece structure, melodies, and harmonies in ways that resembled the AI's output but improved upon it
